Karl (Jurtschak) 39 years old. Engineering technician. Presently I'm living near Freising in Bavaria.
My hobbies are travel and photography. As a child I dreamt of long journeys on a motorcycle to unknown destinations. Two years ago I was ready for a decision: My destination will be Lake Baikal in the Russian Federation!
Following my decision, I devoured every travel report I could find about the route I'd planned, and met with others who had travelled in the area. I attended some hands-on training by BMW for servicing and repairing my bike and took some photography lessons too.
After talking to my employer, I have four months holiday to realise my dreams. I will be travelling on my own, with my faithful BMW1150 GS.

My Itinerary
1st of May 2010 I started the big ride east. The red tracklogs and placemarkers show, were I have been. Sadly I had to abort my ride in Atyrau (Kazakhstan) due to unforseen family reasons. The blue placemarks show the planned rest of the ride.
