Prepare man and machine
Bäretswil (CH) - 24.11.2009

As my bike is on its way to Youth America since four weeks, I got some time, to let you know about my preparations.

My preparations took more than a year, smoetimes more intensive and sometimes a bit less intensive. This includes also the optimization of my bike. A changed a few things, e.g.:

  • Elevated fender
  • Elevated lever
  • Aluminum skidplate
  • Large sidestand plate
  • Heated grip set (continuously regulated)
  • External power plug
  • Large fuel tanks
  • Xenon lights
  • Custom made wind shield
  • New chain
  • New battery
  • And a few other things

I extensively used my equippment and tested the bike's modifications during a few rides and I think, that everthing fits perfectly for me. But the bike's modifications are not all, there were many more things on my list. This includes a visit of the tropical institute, where the doctor gave me some good advice and updated my immunisation protection (go there on time).

To learn spanish was (and still is) the biggest challenge for me. I now take private lessons - something I can recomend to everybody! I also worked on my shape - you never know, how often you will have to pick-up your bike.

During my preparations some friends (Roger and family, Sandro, Res, Michele) helped me with words and deeds. Thank you!
